Pixie!

There's a new pooch in town...

We were seriously missing the companionship of a dog, and Jordyn found Pixie on a pet shelter website. Pixie comes to us from Merced, California. She's a pretty sweet little pooch - very affectionate (lots of kisses) and constantly following one of us. She's settled in pretty fast with us; and has not whined or barked even once - and yes, fingers crossed that she does not start.

It was pretty clear to us that she had not even seen stairs until last night - nor had she spent much time on the grass. We had the tiniest bit of cedar tree blow-down in a little pile on the deck, and she's been using that as her pee place. I took her out around the yard this morning and she just tore it up - it was so cute.

What a great little companion - the nicest present I ever bought my wife for Valentines Day :)

And to my good friends Appie and Flora: Dad and I often talk of old times and stomach bitters... how fondly we look back on those times, and what fun we had. We tried to recreate a little of that here at the new Theeuwen household, but nothing will compare to the silly times where Peter did "the Appie".

I hope you, Flora and your kids are all doing well. Please say hi to Flora and your boys from me.

Beautiful morning...

Was fortunate to wake up to a beautiful sunrise - the trees were all a-glow.

A snowy morning for the Theeuwen's

Woke up this morning to a beautiful dusting of snow... armed with my camera and a cup of coffee - I ventured out into the wilderness ;)

The first picture was taken from our bedroom...



It was really very beautiful....


From our living room window


Coffee in hand, paddle, and camera - it was just gorgeous out. In fact, although there was snow on the ground, I was out there in my shorts and a tee-shirt.

Fishing with the (s)eagles...

I caught 5 Trout in total - Saturday afternoon and then Sunday morning with a roaring fire...

Not shy at all - this gull was but a few feet away - and hungry.

This guy was so big, that when he took off he broke a branch that nearly took out our dog.

This picture is a couple years old; you can see the cabin railing in the foreground. Nevertheless, I had to post it :)
