Garage and lower portion of property

Kind of hard to envision - but... yup - this is our house (well... garage and house below).

Kitchen side - view from lake

Here's the kitchen view from the lake.

Kitchen and dining room view

We just had the inspection done today for the forms and it all passed. So tomorrow (June 29th) the Sullivan team will be pouring the forms.

Siteprep view from lake side

Buh-bye cabin!

Siteprep

Here we can see that the house has been removed and the first stage of excavation is begining.

Tree Removal

Here we have the big "dangerous" tree being prepped for removal. The arborist indicated that given the last really bad storm, he was blown away (pun intended) by the fact that the tree did not come down. It was a good thing too 'cause that wooda crushed us :)

Kaboom!

"Kaboom" - yup - that pretty much sums it up. No intro, and no explanation needed... just check out the pics.

Garage - Timber!

Home wrecking...

And that is that...

Apartment Living... (ugh)

Well - I was awoken at 4am Saturday, June 2, 2007 by my upstairs neighbour. As usual he gets up at about 4am every day to flush his toilet. Apartment living... mmmmmm gotta love it.

Since being awake so early, I decided to set aside WoW for the moment and put some pics together of what has transpired with the building of our home - or more accurately - the destruction of our old home.

For those of you who may not know, we have donated our home to the local fire department to permit them access to our home for training purposes. While the city does not allow burning of homes, they do allow tearing them apart as though the home was to be made of swiss cheese. In the pictures to follow, you will see that the fire department have really taken this to heart.

Remember now - these pictures are clickable and the post is likely to go over multiple pages.

This first picture is of Jordyn's room looking in from the outside:

As you can see, the fire department took great care so as to not ruin Jordyn's nice paint job on the inside...

I think Jordyn may have just discovered that sandwich she left under her bed in 2005...

Air conditioning - Clampette style :)

Hailey's bedroom - aside from the gaping hole in the side, this is what my bedroom used to look like when I was teenager.

This is looking in from the outside wall through Hailey's room and into Sharon's and my room. As you can see, we will no longer be able to get changed in private :P

Here is the front door(s) quite literally into the living room :)

Tanks for the memories...

Ahhhh, and one of my favorite pics...Living room/dining room looking into the master bedroom - with a little cieling missing thrown in for good measure.

We had the hazmat team out to remove all asbestos from the kitchen

Home, sweet home.

Fire department tearing your house apart: 2 weeks of waiting
Hazmat team removing asbestos: $1500
Watching 980 square feet of living space get hauled away in a dumpster: $16,000
Living in an apartment with shitty pipes that wake you every morning: ...priceless
(stay tuned... this is likely to change :))
